stuttershutter privacy policy

Effective 26 September 2026 · Updated 13 October 2026

stuttershutter is a camera app for Android, published by BoomTime4 Pty Ltd ("we").

The short version

stuttershutter does not collect, store, share or sell any personal information. Everything the app does happens on your phone.

Camera

stuttershutter asks for permission to use your camera, because taking photos is what it is for. Camera images are processed on your phone to make your photo and are never sent anywhere.

Storage (Android 9 only)

On Android 9, stuttershutter also asks for permission to access photos and files on your device. That version of Android requires it for an app to save photos to your Pictures folder and to show them in the app's own gallery, and that is all it is used for. On Android 10 and later, no storage permission is needed or requested.

Your photos

Photos you take are saved to your phone's own storage, in the Pictures/stuttershutter folder, where your photos app and any backup service you use (such as Google Photos) can see them, as with any other photo. We never receive them. When you share a photo, it goes wherever you choose to send it, through Android's normal sharing screen.

What we don't do

Settings

The app remembers a few choices on your phone, such as your last look and gap, so they are still there next time. They never leave your phone, and uninstalling the app removes them.

Children

The app collects no information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.

Feedback

The app's About screen has a Send feedback button. It opens your own email app with a message to us, with the app version and your phone's make, model and Android version filled in. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself.
